Course content

The MA Early Years course is designed to meet the interests of a wide range of graduate and non-graduate participants with relevant experience of working within early years settings, schools, or sectors outside of education such as children’s services, health and social care.

This postgraduate Education course draws upon both national international contexts in order for you to be able to explore and reflect upon current issues relating to the field of early years, including child development, children’s wellbeing and approaches to early learning. MA Early Years is grounded in the belief that a multi-disciplinary approach to working with children is crucial if their needs are to be met holistically. As such we aim to promote inter-professional dialogues throughout your study. The key element of the course will be the use of your own professional experience, practice and interests to research and develop specialist areas of expertise.

You will study two specialist modules - Child Development and Support Early Learning in addition to two core modules. To complete the MA you will complete a dissertation.
