Course content

If you want a career in human resource management (HRM) or have recently entered an HR or line management role, this course is designed to give you the up-to-date skills and understanding to be successful within this area.

The University has been awarded Accredited Centre status by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) following a visit and approval from the CIPD quality assurance panel. This course provides the knowledge you need to meet the requirements for Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Advanced Level membership.

The course is designed to be flexible so you can gain a Postgraduate Certificate after the first stage of the course, Postgraduate Diploma after the second or complete the full Masters degree. If you complete the full Masters degree you will be eligible to obtain CIPD accreditation. Students can choose to study the course at the Newport City campus or Treforest campus.

You will study key areas of human resource management, such as the principles, values and approaches to leadership and management, and you will explore the changing context within which businesses operate.
