Course content

This course is designed to develop professional knowledge in the area of Religious Education and is for you if you’re currently working, or looking to work, in church schools. It has been created through a partnership between the University and the Roman Catholic and Anglican communities.

There are opportunities to study a variety of religious traditions - and students are able to benefit from our extensive network of established partnerships with faith groups. This aspect might be of particular interest to those working in the field of education, health or social services wishing to explore issues of diversity and inclusion.

In addition to the appropriate credits, students gain certfication from the two Churches. The Archbishop of Wales Certficate of Theology will be awarded to those students who complete the first two modules (Christian Theology 1 and 2). The Archbishop of Wales Certficate in Church School Studies and the Catholic Certificate of Religious Studies (CCRS) will be awarded to those students who continue with their studies and take the MA Education module, Reflective Practice in a Church School.
