Lower second-class degree or an equivalent standard in other qualifications approved by the University; registration with a professional body; at least two years relevant post-registration clinical experience. At least one satisfactory reference (on some occasions a second reference will be required). Your first reference should normally be from your employer, confirming the availability of appropriate clinical practice experience and mentor support..

Course content

This programme is designed around the needs of experienced neonatal practitioners looking to further develop practice and/or prepare for clinical practice roles at a senior level. It will enable you to strengthen your existing knowledge, skills and competencies while also preparing you for roles that require greater autonomy, responsibility and more complex clinical decision-making.

Research Methods for Evidence Based Practice (can be online), Assessment and Examination of the Newborn, Diagnostic Assessment and Decision Making (Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner), Pharmacology and Prescribing in Clinical Practice, Advanced Neonatal Studies.
