EMECS is a two-year programme run with Kaiserslautern University and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). You will benefit from the University of Southampton’s expertise in system-on-chip and electronics, NTNU’s knowledge of electronics and communications and Kaiserslautern’s strong track record in embedded systems. EMECS covers the fundamentals of embedded computing systems and offers an equivalent education in the three institutions. The elective part of the programme reflects the profiles of the participating partner universities.
Compulsory modules: Individual research project; nanoelectronic devices; digital IC and systems design; EMECS MSc project; SOC design project; digital system design; secure hardware design.
Optional modules: Advanced wireless communications networks and systems; medical electrical and electronic technologies; analogue and mixed signal CMOS design; digital systems synthesis; embedded processors; cryptography.
