A UK bachelors degree with upper second-class honours and a Master of Science/ Art in a relevant subject, plus research proposal and satisfactory performance at interview.

Course content
This programme is suitable if you wish to explore a particular research question or topic through independent study. Training opportunities will help supplement your existing research skills which will be discussed and reviewed individually and are provided via workshops. Education at Southampton is part of a Doctoral Training Partnership approved by the ESRC providing additional research training opportunities.
