Course content

Establish a career with any of the world's most affluential institutions, government regulators, or in academia. MSc Finance and Econometrics at the University of Southampton is one of the few courses in the UK to offer specialist training in advanced econometrics techniques and their application to Finance.

It is designed for students with a particular interest in the more quantitative aspects of the subject and is one of the few programmes in the UK to offer specialist training in advanced econometric techniques and their application to finance.

Semester One (Compulsory and Optional): Economic Analysis; Financial Economics and Asset Pricing; Quantitative Methods; Preliminary Mathematics and Statistics.

Semester Two (Compulsory and Optional): Dissertation; Principles of Corporate Finance; Panel Data and Microeconometrics; Time Series Econometrics; Principles of Corporate Finance; Labour Economics; Industrial Economics; International Trade; Health Policy and Economics; Financial Derivatives; Financial Econometrics.
