Upper 2nd Class Honours or equivalent in a discipline which provides some quantitative training (e.g. computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics, physics, statistics).

Course content

This well-established programme is recognised by the many major organisations that recruit our students because of its strong vocational training. You should be numerate, a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills, and enjoy problem-solving. A three-month project follows successful completion of the instructional component. A wide choice of projects is available: the majority of projects involve either working on a placement or in partnership with a company or other external organisation.

Core modules: Case studies; deterministic operational research methods; presenting reports; problem structuring; spreadsheet and database modelling; statistical methods; stochastic operational research methods; visual basic for applications; dissertation; optional modules include: consultancy skills; economics; financial portfolio theory; forecasting; game theory; healthcare; non-linear optimisation; project management; transportation; trends in information technology.
