This course offers conceptual and methodological training in sociological analysis; in addition to providing students with the skills to conduct research in a variety of professional contexts, it also provides a basis for PhD studies; the course teaches students how to formulate research questions in specific research contexts, select and use appropriate methods of data collection and analysis, manipulate and critically evaluate key concepts and issues, and present results in a systematic way.
Project modules 1 and 2 (from a range of options); qualitative research methods; understanding modernity; understanding social change; plus a dissertation.
