Entry requirements

A UK bachelor's degree with second class honours or higher (or equivalent overseas qualification) in a subject with some element of quantitative study such as business, economics, science, engineering, IT or similar. Applicants with relevant work experience are encouraged to apply.

English language requirements: Band 6C. IELTS 6.5 overall, with minimum 6.5 in reading and writing and 6.0 in listening and speaking. For information on other accepted English language tests, please see the website.

Course content

With a greater quantitative focus than many similar UK masters degrees, this course will develop your analytical and modelling capabilities to an advanced level, making you highly employable.

The MSc in Supply Chain Management and Logistics provides a foundation in core theories and technical skills, and enables you to study relevant managerial topics in more depth and gain specialist knowledge and skills.

The course is taught in conjunction with the University’s renowned Centre of Operational Research, Management Sciences and Information Systems (CORMSIS). A special feature of this MSc is the opportunity to apply for an industry-based summer project, which replaces the traditional dissertation. Partner organisations include Rolls-Royce, Barclaycard, Tesco and Virgin Media.

Core/Compulsory modules: Computational Methods for Logistics; Integrated Logistics; Optimisation and Decision Modelling; Principles of Supply Chain Management; Purchasing and Supply Management; Quantitative Methods; Dissertation or Business project.

Optional modules: Credit Scoring and Data Mining; Forecasting; Game Theory for Business; Problem Structuring; Risk Taking and Decision Making; Project Risk Management; Simulation; Introduction to Python; Management of Corporate Security.
