Course content
Take on the exciting challenge of reshaping the future of fashion! Did you know that for much of human history, zero-waste clothing wasn’t the exception but the norm? Early garments like saris, kilts, and kimonos were skillfully crafted to use every bit of material, reflecting a deep respect for scarce resources. But today, the fashion industry faces a serious waste crisis. This project is your chance to tackle that problem head-on.
In this course you’ll learn about zero-waste design, using research, techniques and experimentation to create garments that generate zero waste. To keep your focus on creativity, you’ll work with white Tyvek fabric, leaving colour and print aside to fully explore bold techniques, inventive cuts, and striking forms. You’ll learn a variety of innovative methods and bring your unique ideas to life!
