Course content

The MRes Outdoor Education and MRes Outdoor Learning are the ideal courses for curious professionals with a passion to improve the quality of their organisation. This is a research-focused degree where you will work with your supervisor to identify the range and scope of your studies. It is anticipated that one of the course projects will lead to a joint publication with your supervisor.

This Masters degree is ideal for part-time study to fit in with your work, and can also be studied full-time. This flexible course is carefully structured, with three supervised projects based on a theme related to your field. Taking an action research approach, we encourage students to explore issues within their professional context in order to improve their knowledge and understanding.

You’ll be supported throughout the research process with a clear structure and approach. You’ll be assigned a project supervisor for each stage with expertise in the chosen area.

Students will also take part in research workshops in which they’ll explore particular research themes with other students. As a participant on this course, you’ll have full access to a wide range of electronic resources, as well as additional tutorial support where necessary.
