We will ask about your previous knowledge and experience so that we can ensure that you study the right number of units. The minimum duration of the course is eight weeks and the maximum is 24 weeks. If English is not your first language, please go to our English language requirements web page. http://www.sunderland.ac.uk/ug/englishlanguagerequirements/

Through this course you will evaluate your existing knowledge of Computer Science and then fill any gaps in topics such as computer architecture, algorithms, computer modelling, programming, machine representation of data, database management and the social implications of computing.
To join this Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) course you should already have received a conditional offer for a programme of initial teacher training, such as our PGCE Computer Science.
The course will be tailored to your specific needs, allowing you to rapidly gain the required knowledge. The course can take as little as eight weeks, up to a maximum of 24 weeks. The course is full-time with a major element of distance learning. Your tutors will organise workshops and tutorials, and the course makes use of the expertise of our partnership schools as well as Computing At School.
