Entry requirements

Bachelor's degree with a Natural Science major (to include general biology, general chemistry, general physics and calculus). Undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). A minimum score of 308 (1200 on the old scale) in the GRE (verbal + quantitative) is preferred.

Course content

The Master of Science degree in Cellular & Structural Biology has two tracks, the Anatomical Sciences or Biotechnology track.

The Anatomical Sciences track is a non-thesis track and does not require laboratory research. The program provides unique opportunities to teach and tutor medical, dental, and other health professions students. Over 40 percent of graduates moved on to medical or dental school in past five years.

The Biotechnology track focuses on using cutting-edge biotechnology available including Next-Gen sequencing, optical imaging in live cells and animals. Over 80 percent of graduates in last five years now working at major biotech/pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions.

Aging, Cancer Biology, Cell & Organelle Biology, DNA Repair & Mutagenesis, Neurobiology and Stem Cells.

Information for international students

A minimum score of 220 on the computerized Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (paper test: 550; iBT: 68) or of 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
