Course content
This course will prepare you for life as a secondary teacher, with the skills and knowledge to influence the lives of the young people you teach.The course is offered in partnership with Argyll and Bute, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Highland, Moray, Orkney Islands and Shetland Islands councils, each working with the university through their local campus. The programme is also offered in partnership with Scottish Borders council, with applicants based in the Borders and registered through Inverness College UHI.The PGDE (Secondary) consists of 18 weeks study at the university plus 19 weeks in professional practice in schools.For 2018 entry, the following subjects are being offered: Business studies Chemistry and science Computing science Home economics Mathematics Physics and science Technical educationWe are now taking applications for all subjects at all our locations for 2018 entry through the main UCAS undergraduate scheme (with institution code H49). However, we are still in negotiation with the local authorities to confirm which subjects will be available at each campus as this links to their workforce planning needs. We will have final confirmation before we invite applicants for interview.

English Language Requirements
Our programmes are taught and examined in English. To make the most of your studies, you must be able to communicate fluently and accurately in spoken and written English and provide certified proof of your competence before starting your course. Please note that English language tests need to have been taken no more than two years prior to the start date of the course. Fees and funding
Standard fees are for students normally domiciled in Scotland/European Union/EEA(outside UK) and with a term time address in Scotland. These students usually have their fees paid by the SAAS. For Students normally domiciled in the rest of the UK other fees Standard Fee GBP 1820 Rest of UK GBP 9000. International Fee GBP 11100. For International Students There are a variety of funding opportunities available to you. You can contact our international office for advice on what funding you can apply for. UHI is offering scholarship worth around £1000 to all applicants whose home domicile is in South Asia

Assessment
Courses are assessed through a variety of methods which may include coursework exercises, presentations, oral and written poster presentations, essays, reports, tutorials and exams.
