A good Honours degree in the chosen subject area.
MPhil in MediaPhD in Media
Months of entry
Please note the course information below may be subject to change for the 2014/2015 academic year.
The two courses differ slightly in that research at the MPhil level represents an extension of existing knowledge, while at the PhD level you will be expected to make an original contribution to knowledge.
Most students enrol first for the MPhil and transfer to the PhD when their work has sufficiently developed. However, it is possible to enrol directly onto the PhD course if you are appropriately qualified.
While you are on the course, you will have a supervisory team made up of a Director of Studies with expertise in your chosen field, a further supervisor and, where appropriate, an additional adviser. You will, of course, be able to access all the general support facilities on offer at the University.
Your research will be judged through the presentation of a thesis or artefact and a viva voce for academic assessment.
