Entry requirements
A minimum of a lower second class honours degree (2:2) In a related creative subject such as digital arts and design, new media, film, performance, or games design, but students with other degrees will also be considered.
Applicants may be interviewed, set an assignment, or asked to submit a portfolio.

Creative technologies are transforming the way we engage with the world, and extended realities (XR) - such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR) -are at the forefront of this change, increasingly shaping industries like arts, entertainment, gaming, architecture, and education. The MA Immersive Media Design aims to empower creatives from diverse fields with the skills and knowledge needed to create captivating immersive experiences across these dynamic fields and beyond.
This course blends artistic practices with technical expertise, supporting you to develop original immersive media projects that explore new possibilities in narrative and interactive design. Through hands-on, project-based learning, you will engage with state-of-the-art tools and systems, exploring practical strategies for producing immersive experiences while critically engaging with the cultural and social implications of emerging technologies.
The course fosters speculative design, experimental methodologies, and inclusive practices, encouraging work that addresses contemporary social issues and engages global audiences.
Throughout the course, you’ll build a professional portfolio of original immersive media projects, demonstrating your ability to conceptualise, design, and execute impactful immersive experiences. The course culminates in a final project, where you’ll produce an immersive media experience aligned with your interests and career goals.
As a graduate you will be equipped with the creative vision and technical expertise needed to drive innovation and contribute to the growing immersive media sector.

If your first language is not English you should have an IELTS 6.5 overall, with at least 5.5 in each element.
