Applicants will normally be required to have a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in a subject broadly related to the science and engineering disciplines.
Applicants with long-term industrial experience and relevant professional qualification would also be considered for admission into this programme. Accreditation for Prior Learning (APL) will be permitted only under the terms of University procedure. International applicants must have English competence to IELTS 6.0 or equivalent in all aspects. International students will require approval from the Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS). This will help to stop the spread of knowledge and skills that could be used in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their means of delivery. The ATAS is specifically designed to ensure that those applying for postgraduate study in certain sensitive subjects do not acquire knowledge that could potentially be used in WMD programmes.
