Entry requirements

Good first degree in relevant subject, or directly relevant experience, preferably some experience of graduate work in the social sciences or the humanities. If you are a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you're applying to.

Our expertise spans the discipline – from early modern political thought to contemporary international security, from post-conflict development to global financial governance, from the politics of gender to the politics of the environment.

This programme is the basis of a dissertation of 30,000 words. When applying for the MA in Politics (by Research) candidates must show that they have had some prior experience in research and should indicate clearly and fully the topic of research which they wish to pursue. It must be a topic that is manageable in one year (in the case of full-time students) or two years (in the case of part-time students).
