Course content

This course is specifically for Consultant Social Workers associated with the Think Ahead programme. Applicants can use our Accreditation of Prior Learning policy to accredit prior Practice Teaching or Practice Education Awards for credit against one of the modules. Please note: you will be required to submit documentary evidence in support of this.

The educational purpose of the MA in Social Work is to provide an environment in which students can reach their potential in the development of academic ability, professional knowledge and competence to practice. We aim to equip students with the knowledge, skills, values, critical ability as well as general transferable skills to make a high quality contribution to social care and welfare agencies in the UK and beyond.

Information for international students

If you are a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you're applying to.
