Candidates must successfully complete an assessment test before being invited for interview. Applicants for Copywriting are expected to have the equivalent of 2 A Levels. Applicants for Art Direction are expected to have an HND or degree in Graphic Design or a related subject. Normal entry requirements can be waived in exceptional cases.
Months of entry
The course teaches students the discipline of advertising writing and art direction. Built around the demands of the job, the course parallels the working practices of an advertising agency. Students are given a wide range of creative briefs which enables them to develop good communications skills across a broad range of media. The emphasis is on conceptual and strategic thinking whereby students devise imaginative advertising ideas for real products and brands. Over the course of the year, students will build a portfolio of advertising campaigns in order to interest prospective employers. Attention is also given to copywriting and art direction skills.
