Entry requirements

Following programmes are available for research students:

(a) MPhil

(b) MPhil/PhD

(c) PhD - you may be permitted to enrol directly onto a PhD in exceptional circumstances

To complete a PhD you will normally be required to enter the programme on an MPhil route and undertake an upgrade to PhD process durng your studies.

To apply you should possess a UK Honours degree, normally with at least an upper second class honours, or an academic or professional qualification which is deemed to be equivalent.

For International applicants whose first language is not English or Welsh a minimum overall IELTS Score of 6.5 is required.

Wrexham Glyndŵr University offers MPhil (Master of Philosophy) and PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) qualifications which are validated by the University of Chester.

A postgraduate research degree allows you to undertake in-depth, independent study in a specific area.
