Course content
This course enhances students understanding of the relationship between physical activity and health outcomes, particularly in clinical populations. This specialised program equips you with the skills to design and implement exercise interventions for individuals with chronic diseases, disabilities, or rehabilitation needs.
This course is:
- Delivered by experienced exercise specialists and scientists
- Designed in collaboration with local healthcare authorities
- Aligned to Clinical Exercise Physiology UK Scope of Practice – giving students relevant experience to potentially go onto apply for accredited status
Students will:
- Study in a BASES accredited Physiology laboratory
- Experience learning in the applied clinical field, completing 150 hours of work placement
- Complete real-world authentic assessments that champion realistic learning
Key course features
- BACPR level 4 cardiac exercise instructor qualification (subject to pre-requisites)
- Applied Clinical Experience in Hospitals/out-patient settings
- Opportunities to publish your dissertation to the annual BASES student conference
