An IELTS score of 6.5 is required. There are a range of pre-sessional English language programmes available with further English support classes during term time.

Course contentThis advanced course is for those who wish to have an in depth understanding of the nutrition and production of farmed animals. Delivery is via lectures, tutorials, visits, student-managed learning and employs a range of assessment techniques such as oral presentations, case studies, essays, seminars, and written examinations. Modules cover Current Issues in Animal Production and Nutrition; Scientific Communication; Animal Nutrition Science; Animal Feeds and Rationing; Animal Biochemistry and Physiology; Reproduction and Breeding; Advanced Principles and Practices of Animal Production Systems; Research Methods and a 20-week research project which can be based at Writtle, other institutions or an external organisation.
