Course content

Commencing in September 2016, the Master of Science in Urban Design at XJTLU allows students to engage in the complex issues of space production in the dynamic Chinese context. The degree considers the interplay between spatial design and social, economic, environmental and political issues evident in a range of urban settings. The degree is taught across the Departments of Architecture and Urban Planning and Design to ensure that students receive an interdisciplinary perspective on the development of urban form.

Therefore, the degree is not limited to people with architecture or urban planning backgrounds, rather it is relevant for all interested in understanding the nature and production of space. Staff teaching on the programme offer varied perspectives both in terms of disciplinary approaches and spatial understandings.
