Entry requirements

Candidates for entry to the MA programme must normally possess one of the following: Graduates with an honours degree at 2:1 or above in a related subject (e.g. Drama, Theatre, Live Art, Place/Space/Time Based Art) will normally register for the MA or Graduates with an honours degree from another discipline and working in a professional arts environment or with extensive experience of arts practice. Academic tutors will consider such applications on an individual basis.

Course content

Our Fine Art MFA enables you to enrich your existing practice and develop as a professional artist in a creative community. You will produce a mature body of work, coëxisting with debates at the forefront of your discipline. The course focuses on making, informed by technical knowledge. You will research, develop and refine your ideas. Your practice and your academic understanding will become inseparable.

Information for international students

International students will need to demonstrate that they have equivalent experience /qualifications as home students (ie same entry criteria as above). If their first language is not English they must show evidence of English Language competence at IELTS level 6.0 (in all areas of the test) or equivalent.

Most students normally enrol onto the MA programme (180 credits), although there is the possibility of undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits) or exiting with the Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits).
