Course content

This programme is part-time only and students can build routes from the existing modules available to suit their individual needs.

This Software Engineering MSc programme has a heavy focus on developing your technical competencies, readying you for to take on role in various aspects of industry. If you have a background in Computer Science or a related field you will find this programme offers a significant level of challenge, with specialist modules encouraging you to embrace emerging fields and develop new skills within them.
We recognise the attraction of a degree in Software Engineering in the digital economy. We also recognise that for many, some of the prerequisite skills for studying in this field may have been gained through personal informal study. We therefore offer an entry route onto this programme for aspiring students who may have a first degree in another field and/or technical knowledge and skills gained through self-education and/or industry experience. Therefore this programme is also open to applicants who have no background in the subject. We’re happy to discuss this with you as well as help you map a route towards your ambitions.

Information for international students

International students will need to demonstrate that they have equivalent experience /qualifications as home students (ie same entry criteria as above). If their first language is not English they must show evidence of English Language competence at IELTS level 6.0 (in all areas of the test) or equivalent.
