Candidates for entry to the MA programme must normally possess one of the following: Graduates with an honours degree at 2:1 or above in a related subject (e.g. Drama, Theatre, Live Art, Place/Space/Time Based Art) will normally register for the MA or Graduates with an honours degree from another discipline and working in a professional arts environment or with extensive experience of arts practice. Academic tutors will consider such applications on an individual basis.
Months of entry
The MA Fine Arts degree programme will enable you to develop and locate your practice in relation to current bodies of knowledge and practice in the fine arts. You will build a strong and increasingly confident practice through awareness and interaction with current contexts of professional practice and research. There will be opportunities to consider and engage with a diverse range of disciplines, methodologies and practices - including collaborative practice - both within and beyond current fine arts practice. The programme will provide you with the opportunity to develop your creative practice and thinking and provide you with a platform from which to disseminate your work.
MA Fine Arts is part of a vibrant suite of practice-based taught postgraduate programmes in the creative arts, also including applied theatre, applied theatre and music. Each of these Masters programmes are designed for practitioner orientated study and research, providing you with the opportunity to develop your creative practice and reflective thinking within a supportive community of artists and robust culture of enquiry. Whilst your focus will be on Fine Arts, there will also be opportunities for exciting cross-disciplinary study across these two programmes.
Information for international students
International students will need to demonstrate that they have equivalent experience /qualifications as home students (ie same entry criteria as above). If their first language is not English they must show evidence of English Language competence at IELTS level 6.0 (in all areas of the test) or equivalent.

Most students normally enrol onto the MA programme (180 credits), although there is the possibility of undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma (120 credits) or exiting with the Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits).
