Applicants are required to submit a portfolio of visual work, this can be done digitally. Some applicants may be invited for interview.
Months of entry
This MA programme encourages sustained engagement with the medium of photography within a robust creative community.
Students are supported to develop individual specialist approaches, including landscape, social engagement, studio practice and to enhance existing practical and critical thinking skills through a material-led enquiry. The course offers opportunities to develop live projects as well as studio-based research.
A diverse range of academic tutors and visiting professionals will enrich the experience of the course. The programme structure allows you to focus on your own specialism by undertaking a range of core and specialist projects interwoven with a critical studies programme. These skills will cultivate your attitude towards becoming a more versatile, creative professional photographer. Your practice is supported through an integrated critical studies programme, providing conceptual and philosophical frameworks that directly address concepts of image making and aesthetic experience.
Information for international students
International students will need to demonstrate that they have equivalent experience /qualifications as home students (ie same entry criteria as above). If their first language is not English they must show evidence of English Language competence at IELTS level 6.0 (in all areas of the test) or equivalent.
