You belong here – Join the British Army.
Get world-class training. Make a real difference. Be part of a team.
There’s a lot more to the British Army than you might think. And different ways you can join. You can be a Soldier or an Officer, join as part of the Regular Army full time or enjoy the perks of Army life part time in the Reserves. You’ll play an important role in working as a team, keeping people safe and making the world a better place.
If you want to join as a Regular Soldier, you have a lot of options. The Army is ranked No. 1 in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers. With over 39 apprenticeships on offer, you can get qualified in engineering, intelligence, medicine and much more. If you want to gain skills and earn civilian qualifications, whilst getting all the benefits of being a soldier, then this is the route for you.
If you want to learn to lead from the very best, you can become a Regular Officer and start your journey at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. You’ll build confidence, learn survival skills, and train to lead your team through tough situations - anywhere in the world. You’ll then take charge of a group of soldiers and begin specialist training in your chosen area - like logistics, combat, engineering, or even flying an Apache helicopter.
If you have specialist skills, or want to learn them, you could join the Army as a Professionally Qualified Officer (PQO). There are roles in science, medicine, law and more, where the Army will pay for your civilian training (e.g. university) or offer a lump sum if you’ve already qualified. You’ll then do a role in your field unlike any other in civilian life.
Army life is full of exciting opportunities, wherever you join. You could be parachuting in the UK or diving overseas. You’ll train around the world, earn a good salary, and enjoy great benefits – from housing, sports and healthcare, to gaining qualifications and growing your career.
What’s in it for you
- Great pay: Your pay starts at over £26,000 as a soldier and over £34,000 as an officer. As you move up in rank, your will pay increase.
- Free qualifications: Earn skills for life – from leadership to project management to apprenticeships. Whatever route you take, there are qualifications to gain.
- Financial support: Officers can get help with university costs through Army bursaries and scholarships – especially if you’re studying a technical subject.
- Travel and adventure: Explore the world – overseas deployments, sport trips or adventurous training expeditions. Enjoy new experiences and make lifelong memories, all whilst being paid.
We’re looking for people who are ready for something different and have the drive to succeed. With world-class training and support, you’ll achieve things you didn’t know you were capable of and build a career you’re truly proud of.
