About Tilney Smith & Williamson

For over a century, we have managed the financial affairs of private clients and their business interests.

We offer a wide range of end-to-end services, a leading provider of accountancy, tax and financial advisory services, with more than 1,800 people across 11 offices in the UK, Ireland and Jersey.

Clients, whether individuals or companies, value our ability to provide tailored financial and professional services to enable them to achieve their ambitions. Our approach is the same, regardless of whether we are working with an individual, family or business client, although these interests are often intrinsically linked. We act as a trusted adviser to help grow, manage and preserve their wealth.

We believe in building close, long-term relationships with our clients, many of whom have been with us for generations.

We deliver a first-class service by getting to know our clients and understanding their objectives and aspirations, as well as the longer-term challenges they may face.

And that is where you come, to ensure our service standards are maintained for generations to come.

Your Career is our Future

If you are the kind of person who likes to follow your own path and you are looking for something more from your future career, we think you will fit right in with us. Our structured training programmes produce the future’s brightest accountants, tax advisers and investment managers. They cover a broad range of areas and are driven towards you gaining a professional qualification e.g., the ACA, ATT/CTA or IAD/CWM. You will genuinely enjoy the responsibility as you manage your own projects.

You will get exposure to many different clients and a wide range of industries by taking on real work from the outset and gaining early responsibility. But we do not throw you in at the deep end — we offer fantastic training, dedicated support (including from our most senior people), mentoring and the kind of collaborative culture that means there’ll always be someone on hand to offer help and advice. We are prestigious, but familiar. Here, the atmosphere is friendly, and everyone is approachable. We are all invested in your journey, especially our partners.

What we are looking for

We will keep it nice and simple. Minimum grade requirements – 112 UCAS points, a grade B in GCSE English Language and Maths, and a 2:2 in your undergraduate degree (if applying for our graduate programme). But we are also keen to find out much more about you, because pieces of paper do not tell the full story and what makes you tick is important to us to make sure we are the right fit for you.
