Entry requirements

Applicants should have a minimum of an upper second-class Honours degree in the field of Computing. The course is designed for students whose degree comprises a significant component of software development or networking. Applicants who do not cover the appropriate subjects during their degree, will be considered if they have relevant industry experience. This would normally be a minimum of two years experience of working in the area of software development or networking in either a promoted post, or with a significant level of responsibility.

The world's increasing reliance on the Internet has inevitably meant that computer crime is on the increase. Many companies are now so worried about the threat from cyber crime that they employ consultants to test the security of their computer systems. As a result computer specialists skilled in the techniques of Ethical Hacking, and in the security measures necessary to protect systems from malicious hacking, are currently very much in demand.

Information for international students

All applicants are required to provide certified proof of competence in English Language. The University's minimum requirements are IELTS 6.0 (with no band lower than 5.5); or a suitable equivalent qualification.
