Bangor Law School is an innovative and expanding School. Our programmes have been carefully designed to evolve with the ever-changing legal landscape, and to equip students with the legal knowledge and skills demanded by an increasingly globalised industry. Students from several countries worldwide choose Bangor Law School for its teaching expertise and diverse, multi-cultural environment.
Our small class sizes foster a lively learning environment and encourage students to engage fully with the teaching experience, with students and lecturers developing a close and supportive relationship. The academic experience is further enriched by a range of extracurricular activities which have been designed to help students enhance their career prospects.
Established in 1884, Bangor University is one of the oldest and most prestigious degree-awarding institutions in the UK. It is ranked amongst the top 15 universities in the UK for student satisfaction (excluding specialist institutions, NSS 2016).

Careers and employability
Our postgraduate programmes prepare students for careers with law firms, international organisations, local government, teaching and research. The academic experience offered by the School is enriched by a programme of activities designed to encourage students to accelerate their career development and to cultivate skills that will give them an edge in the increasingly competitive job market. These include mooting, an annual Law Careers Fair and a work experience programme.
According to the latest statistics from the annual Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey, 91% of our graduates were in employment or further study within 6 months of graduating.
Links with industry / work placements
Through the School's continuous work in developing contacts with legal practitioners across the UK, Bangor Law School is able to offer students an impressive programme of work placements. Placements enable students to make informed decisions about what to do after graduation, be it to continue with their legal studies, pursue research in a particular field or choose a career path; and they offer a unique opportunity to experience the various careers open to Law graduates, such as solicitors' practices, the Bar and local government.
The School also uses its professional links to arrange a regular programme of careers talks, and to conduct the annual Law Careers Fair.
Bangor University offers scholarships worth up to £4,000 per annum to postgraduate and research students.
