Entry requirements

You should have a primary qualification in Dentistry – BDS or equivalent, plus two years full-time (or equivalent) post qualification clinical practice of dentistry. Other international qualifications may be acceptable, please contact the Admissions Office for clarification. Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential and non-native English speakers are required to have a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 (no less than 6.5 in any part), or TOEFL scores as follows : internet based 106, computer based 263, paper based 627 and must have been completed within the last two years. International applicants Students from outside of the UK help form a global community here at Queen Mary. Open day

Please note that admissions for September 2014 are now closed for this programme and will re-open in October 2014.

This programme is designed for you if you are a dental graduate who wants to pursue a career in prosthodontics. It can contribute to the first two years of your three-year clinical training, leading to Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) of The Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Membership is granted after you successfully complete an optional third year of training without additional examination. This option is only available through competitive entry. If you are a UK/EU applicant who wants to be entered on the GDC specialist list, this option must be agreed by The London Deanery prior to first year entry.

This programme will:

  • Train you as a specialist level prosthodontist
  • Successfully prepare you for Royal College Specialty exams in this subject
  • Form a solid basis for PhD study.
