“To lead people, walk beside them. As for the best leaders, the people do not notice their existence … When the best leader’s work is done, the people say, ‘We did it ourselves!’” – Lao Tsu, Chinese philosopher
This course is designed for those who have experience of working in schools, colleges, universities or other educational providers and who seek to develop a better understanding of how educational leadership influences, and impacts upon, the experiences of staff and students. The course is also appropriate for those with an academic interest in studying educational leadership and management. Drawing on contemporary theory and research this course offers a critical understanding of leadership as a culturally based, social and ethical practice.
You’ll graduate with practical and theoretical knowledge, that’s well placed to apply for middle, senior or leadership roles in schools or other educational institutions. Many students on our educational leadership awards gain promotion within 12 months of completing the course.
