Course content

  • Explore and create choreography for live performance and film.
  • Develop skills as a dance maker with other students from around the world.
  • Collaborate with other artists, and learn skills needed to succeed as a professional.

This MA programme focuses on you as both artist and entrepreneur, with a specialist emphasis on site, collaboration, and screen-based practice. You’ll mature as a "maker of work" while gaining an understanding of, and an ability to respond to, trends and opportunities in the workplace.

We offer a range of creative opportunities to enhance your dance studies, including access to the University’s careers specialists. Alongside guidance from your tutors, the dance programme has support from a number of high profile Associate Artists and Industry Specialists who’ll enhance your study experience


Having a postgraduate qualification opens up a range of options in the world of dance related work. You’ll be positioned to become a choreographer, performer, teacher, screendance maker, or a combination of these things. We’ll support you to develop versatility and how to market and present your work in a professional manner to help you graduate with the entrepreneurial skills needed to succeed in a challenging but inspirational workplace.
