Course content
If you are a graduate with a passion for learning and an interest in a career in primary teaching, this course is for you. The PGCE Primary (3-11 Age Range) with QTS degree at Cardiff Met is a one-year course that leads to the award of qualified teacher status. The course aims to prepare student teachers to be highly skilled, confident, critically reflective and innovative practitioners who are committed to life-long professional learning and the education of young people.
The PGCE Primary (3-11 Age Range) with QTS is also available to study through the medium of Welsh, TAR Cynradd.
Distinctive Features of the Degree
- 60 credits at master’s level that can be ‘traded in’ towards an MA in Education.
- University and school experiences that train student teachers to teach the Curriculum for Wales across the 3-11 age range.
- Students are prepared for a PGCE qualification widely recognised throughout the United Kingdom and the rest of the world.
