Entry requirements

Participants will need to be suitably experienced with neuromusculoskeletal practice in outpatient or primary care settings to be able to take on enhanced or advanced level clinical capabilities and development at Masters level (i.e., whilst there is no formal amount of experience required, this module is unlikely to be suitable for someone with less than approximately 1 year of full-time practice experience performing NMSK triage in outpatient or primary care settings.)

They will need to identify of a clinical mentor who is working at Advanced Practice level. Additionally, they will require workplace support for at least one watched/joint patient consultation per month throughout the duration of the module.

Please note this is the bare minimum requirement. The amount of support provided should be negotiated between the student and mentor in order to best achieve the learning outcome.

The Neuromusculoskeletal Triage module will enable musculoskeletal healthcare professionals to develop high quality and robust clinical reasoning processes to optimise their clinical practice in both primary and secondary care services.
