Entry requirements

A minimum of a 2:2 undergraduate degree in Law, or in a joint honours degree where Law has been studied to an appropriate level. This course is aimed primarily at law graduates, legal practitioners (solicitors and barristers) from the UK and other jurisdictions, and politics and business graduates with some knowledge of law.

Course content

Commercial transactions are the core of all business activity. Recent global events highlight the importance of a rules-based international order for trade and commerce. This course exposes students to the numerous contemporary issues that exist in international commercial law, and provides students with an advanced knowledge and understanding of these issues; as well as enhancing students' critical awareness of international commercial law.

This course aims to expose you to the numerous contemporary issues that exist in international commercial law, and provide you with the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of these issues; as well as the opportunity to enhance your critical awareness of international commercial law.

Potential to attend or even present at our Annual International Commercial Law conference which is held in conjunction with several universities across the globe. Benefit from specific research skills and design modules to support you in the completion of your postgraduate dissertation on an international commercial law topic of your choosing. There are even opportunities to publish your work in the Coventry Law Journal. (This could also be added to the LLM Law programme if space allows).

As part of this course, you will undertake a professional development module which is currently accredited by the Chartered Management Institute for the 2023-24 intake. Upon successful completion of this module, you will gain the CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice at no additional cost.

Professional experience option

This master's programme provides you with the additional option to apply for a professional experience opportunity during your first semester with us. The professional experience opportunity is designed to further develop your skills and knowledge with the aim of maximising your employability prospects.

Information for international students

This course requires IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component lower than 5.5. Pre-sessional English is available if required.
