The news is great: 93 per cent of our most recent postgraduates are in work or further education within six months of completing their course (DLHE), earning £32,000 within six months on average, and overall we’re the best university in the country for helping students find highly skilled work or further study (TEF).

We have invested £136 million transforming our campus into a modern, inspiring environment. We continually improve our facilities, working with industry to ensure equipment and workspaces replicate those used by professionals. £4.2 million has been spent to restore Leicester Castle, making it the base of our Leicester Castle Business School.
DMU offers excellent libraries – highly rated in the 2016 National Student Survey –learning zones, study areas and meeting rooms, where you can find the information you need, conduct research, get support or simply find a quiet place to study.
DMU library and learning services provide access to more than 500,000 print publications, thousands of e-books and e-journals, a huge range of DVDs, plus a host of research databases.
Our main Kimberlin Library is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and hosts a dedicated postgraduate study room. In addition, the library offers a huge range of online resources, all of which can be remotely accessed anytime, anywhere.
The library is run by dedicated staff who offer additional support to students, including help with academic writing, research strategies, literature searching and reference management, assistive technology and maths skills for non-maths students. There is also a Just Ask service for help and advice via email or telephone. DMU is also one of only a few universities able to offer students a dedicated Law and Legal Practice library, housed adjacent to the School of Law, in the £35 million Hugh Aston building.
All our courses, across all our four faculties are designed to open up great career paths, backed by equipment and technology that meets industry needs and techniques, and because great ideas can come anytime (and often when you feel most relaxed), breakout and soft study spaces can now be found across campus.
We have renovated our campus centre, the buzzing hub of student life, and if you want to eat while you meet friends it’s a great place to start. The popular Milly Lane’s is based there, with a great menu featuring fresh ingredients with locally sourced fruit, vegetables and meat. DMU’s spectacular new Food Village is also a great place to eat, socialise and relax, offering tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The refurbished Newarke Café boasts freshly prepared hot and cold food including panini, flatbreads, baguettes, sandwiches and cakes, while the Kimberlin Café, in the Kimberlin Library, is an inviting space to relax and grab something from the food counter.
The Riverside Cafe has a strong focus on vegan and vegetarian food, with hot and cold meals and drinks served throughout the day, inside and out. As the name suggests, it overlooks both the river and the landscaped grounds of the Vijay Patel Building and the redeveloped Mill Lane.
Sport is in DMU’s blood, because our students tell us taking part in performance or recreational activity, or just keeping fit, really builds their confidence, resilience and wellbeing. As part of our campus transformation we created the £1 million Watershed, a home for activities including rowing, five-a-side football, badminton, netball, basketball, indoor hockey, indoor cricket and volleyball and a space for our many societies to meet. Our £8 million leisure centre has a 25m pool, sauna, climbing wall, eight-court sports hall, fitness suite, free-weights area and dance studio.

We want you to succeed, without finance being an unnecessary obstacle. There is a range of funding opportunities to explore. Our Student Finance and Welfare Team offers support in a number of areas, including information about fees, grants and bursaries, and advice on bank accounts, benefits and bills.
We currently offer the Vice-Chancellor's 2020 Scholarship for Home/EU DMU alumni for students who wish to continue their studies at DMU by enrolling on a postgraduate taught course. It offers a tuition fee discount of up to 50% to recent DMU graduates who achieved a 2:1 or above.
We also offer a number of tuition fee discounts and country-specific scholarships for international students who wish to study a postgraduate course at DMU.
Our home, Leicester, is a colourful, confident and diverse city, thriving on its recent success and fantastic for students. Meanwhile, another study by marbles.com puts Leicester in the top five most affordable for travel, cinema, dining out and beer.
It's a famous sporting city, home to Leicester City, 10-time rugby union champions Leicester Tigers and leading national basketball side Leicester Riders (all partners of DMU), plus Leicestershire County Cricket Club, and has a rich history. Before you start making your mark, you need a place you can really call your own. There is a diverse range of private accommodation close to the DMU campus available to postgraduate students.
