Applied Sport Science
Entry requirements
The entry requirement for this course is a Bachelor (Honours) Degree at a 2:2 or above, or equivalent. We look for candidates to have a background in Sport Science, Sport and Exercise Science, Coaching Science and Physiotherapy or other biological science degrees that contains a substantial element of exercise physiology/ psychology in order to be eligible for this programme.
We may consider lesser qualifications if you have sufficient relevant work experience within the industry.

Our MSc programme blends cutting-edge academic knowledge with hands-on, real-world experience—preparing you to thrive as a sport science practitioner. You’ll explore the scientific principles of athletic performance, develop key academic and professional skills, and tailor elements of the course to your specific interests. Throughout the programme, you’ll gain expertise in planning and executing research, critically analysing current practices, and applying a wide range of sport science techniques.
Learning takes place in our designated research, physiology, biomechanics, and environmental laboratories, providing the ideal environment for applied learning and experimentation. But it doesn’t stop there — you’ll also have full access to our excellent gym and sports hall facilities, supporting both your academic and practical development.
