Course content

If you would like to take a Master's degree before studying at MPhil/PhD level, the MRes is ideal. This is a one-year full-time or two-year part-time programme, primarily assessed by a dissertation on a topic of your choice, with supporting essays on relevant research methods and either a bibliographical exercise or a review of the critical/theoretical literature.

The MRes qualifies you to carry out higher-level research, but is also a degree in its own right.
