Entry requirements

Minimum 2:1 (or equivalent) undergraduate degree in Philosophy or any other field. Conversion students should show evidence of an interest in and aptitude for the subject.

Philosophy with Film Studies

Course content

Equally geared both to progressing Philosophy students, and to those converting into Philosophy from another subject at undergraduate level. Designed to provide a solid knowledge base from which you can progress on to independent research.

You will specialise in at least three areas. (No more than one of these should have been previously taken at BA level). In addition, you will write a dissertation of around 10,000 words.

Fees and funding

British and EU residents can apply for AHRC studentships. Some Graduate School and School of Arts & Humanities studentships and bursaries are also available. Departmental scholarships: Sorabji Graduate Bursary Fund (maximum £2,000, open to all students); Susan Stebbing Graduate Award (maximum £2,000, open to female students only).
