This MFA Professional Acting course is a two-year postgraduate programme for those who already have a BA or BFA degree, or comparable professional experience, and want to take the next steps to become a successful, entrepreneurial, creative artist.

Course content
This Master's degree in acting provides rigorous, world-class conservatoire training combined with industry-level postgraduate project work. The course is open to those from any background, but especially for those who want to shake up the ecosystem of the creative skills industry, and use their abilities to challenge the status quo and shape new landscapes for dramatic art.
During your two years at LAMDA, you’ll be working mainly in half-group classes and will receive frequent, personalised feedback and support to advance your skill-set and accelerate your career.
You’ll develop an informed, open, yet questioning, approach to the craft of acting. This will set you up with the skills and confidence to become an independent minded practitioner with considerable professional versatility and creativity.
Course highlights:
- Experience rigorous training in small groups covering: Advanced Acting, Screen & Audio. Music, Movement & Voice.
- Perform in productions throughout the year and industry- invited showcase(s), and work on a short film with a professional film and post-production crew.
- You’ll graduate with a professionally shot showreel and voice reel.
- You’ll get to work on dynamic, fast paced edit of a Shakespeare play that will tour schools, also giving you the opportunity to start to develop and practice delivery and facilitation of workshops for schools' audiences.
- In small groups you’ll get to develop and perform a self-created collaborative piece of original theatre.
Information for international students
Each year, LAMDA hosts in-person auditions in different cities across North America, with call-backs in New York and Los Angeles.
If you live in North America, you are eligible for our in-person North American Audition Tour.
International applicants who wish to travel to and audition in North America should contact the Admissions team for information on availability.
Fees and funding
If you’re starting a Master’s degree, you could get a Postgraduate Master’s Loan to help with course fees and living costs. If you need any further information, please get in touch with our Admissions team.
Students can also apply for a Leverhulme Arts Scholarships, which awards between £3,000-£12,000 per annum and can support with fees and/or maintenance costs throughout the duration of a degree. These scholarships are available for all postgraduate courses.

At the end of the course, you will receive a Master of Fine Arts in Professional Acting. When you graduate, you’ll leave with a professionally shot showreel and voice reel. Agents and casting directors are invited to attend selected productions and film screenings.
