Entry requirements

Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.

Please note, this course is not suitable for applicants with a first degree in Quantity Surveying that is accredited by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Course content

You might already be working in the construction industry or be looking to expand your experience in a related field.

As part of this course, you’ll:

  • Develop the core competencies required by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to become a chartered surveyor
  • Build on your workplace experiences by applying your studies to your work setting
  • Enhance your strategic thinking and confidence in decision making
  • Study construction technology, design economics, financial management and procurement
  • Conduct research that will hone your skills in inquiry and critical analysis
  • Gain the expertise to become a chartered surveyor, with the opportunity to travel and shape the world we live in

Upon graduating, you’ll be eligible to apply to sit the RICS’ Assessment of Professional Competence – the final stage to becoming a chartered quantity surveyor. Alternatively, you could choose to enter a related field such as engineering or project management.
