Course content

LSE's MSc Human Resources and Organisations (HRO) programme combines HR expertise, specialist knowledge, and real-world experience to help you stand out in a competitive job market.

Tailor your degree to your ambitions by choosing one of the three specialist streams: Human Resources Management, International Employment Relations, or Organisational Behaviour.

Programme highlights

  • An internationally recognised CIPD accredited qualification to help set you apart in the job market if you choose the HRM or IER streams. All three streams are fully aligned with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) guidelines for postgraduate study - recognised in 180 countries
  • The opportunity to apply for the Links Scheme - a real-world consulting project with an external client that builds your industry connections and practical expertise, as an alternative to a traditional dissertation
  • One elective option on the HRM stream, two on the IER stream, and three on the OB stream, allowing you to tailor the programme to your interests
  • A close connection to employers through the HR Work Shadowing and HR Mentoring Schemes, where, if secured, you'll connect with senior HR professionals and alumni
  • Career preparation embedded in your learning journey through the HR and People Management Career Series

Which stream is for me?

The Human Resource Management stream is ideal if you're interested in a career in HR management, talent management, or HR consulting. You'll graduate with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to succeed in HR or people management.

Choose the International Employment Relations stream if you'd like to make an impact in HR and employment relations - whether it be in government, business, labour organisations, or global bodies like the International Labour Organisation (ILO). This programme also provides a strong foundation for PhD research.

The Organisational Behaviour stream prepares you for careers in HR, consulting, employee engagement, organisational psychology, learning and development, or it can be a stepping stone to PhD research. It is designed for students who would like the flexibility to customise their learning with three elective options.
