Entry requirements

At least a 2:2 honours degree, or international equivalent, in a relevant subject such as:

  • sport and exercise science
  • physiology.

Applicants with lower or non-standard qualifications and relevant industrial experience will be considered on an individual basis.

Course content

Newcastle University is the first Russel Group University to develop an MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology. As such, you’ll be taught by clinical and academic experts in the field with a wealth of experience.

Through your dissertation project, you'll work to answer research questions in areas including:

  • exercise oncology
  • exercise in diabetics
  • exercise immunology
  • cardiac and extreme environmental physiology

Our previous graduates have gone on to a range of careers, such as:

  • Clinical Exercise Physiologists working in the public or private sector
  • Applied Exercise Physiologists working with professional sports bodies
  • PhDs in Clinical Exercise Physiology

Direct Entry: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in all sub-skills).
