A 2:1 BSc honours degree, or international equivalent, in a relevant subject such as:

  • ecology
  • environmental science
  • biology
  • geography
We will also consider applicants with non-standard qualifications and relevant experience.

Course content

This research-focused degree will develop your academic understanding, and your practical skills, relating to conservation, biodiversity and ecosystem ecology and management.

The Ecology MRes is designed for graduates in the field of environmental and related sciences. It will provide you with the skills required to follow successful careers in the environmental and wildlife conservation sectors. You'll also develop the advanced skills and knowledge required for further academic study, or research-focused industry roles.
By studying our Ecology MRes you can help support the protection of our planet. The degree will also help you if you:

Information for international students

To study this course you need to meet our Band 2 English Language Requirements. Direct Entry : IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills). If you have lower English Language scores, you may be accepted onto a Pre-sessional English course.
