Courses designed for success
Our range of taught, postgraduate courses are designed to develop in-depth knowledge in a specialist field of study. All foster skills that are valuable in a professional context, such as analysis, independent critical enquiry and effective communication. Many have been designed in consultation with our contacts in business, the public services and the professions to have direct practical applications in the workplace. Others are oriented more towards fostering research skills and furthering an academic career.

Research excellence honoured
Research that shapes lives and society is central to Nottingham Trent University’s mission. The Queen's Anniversary Prize for higher and further education was awarded to the University in November 2015. It is the highest national honour for a UK university and recognises the University’s world-class research.
We have an international reputation for research. Our 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) results demonstrate our commitment to research that delivers global success, with nearly all of our research identified as world leading or internationally excellent.

Outstanding facilities and support
Our students are equipped with a wide range of facilities and resources to help in their studies. Whether that’s our Boots Library with over 400 PCs available 24/7, or our Ballistics laboratory at our Clifton Campus, the latest equipment is available in our teaching spaces while constant investment in new technologies provides every opportunity for academic success.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities ranging from sports clubs and societies to volunteering.
An excellent standard of support is offered to all our students including financial advice, counselling, faith support, careers advice and help with accommodation.
All three of our campuses provide high-quality on-site accommodation in a range of furnished self-catering residences offering en-suite or shared bathroom facilities. The city offers a wide range of bars, cafes and restaurants to suit every taste, together with a generous helping of music, culture, sports, shopping and nightlife including the infamous Rock City. It’s also home to two great theatres; the Theatre Royal and Nottingham Playhouse where you can catch some of the biggest names in theatre, as well as some more independent productions.
