Applicants to the programme will normally be expected to have: A first class or upper second class honours degree. English as a mother tongue, IELTS 6.5 or other appropriate evidence of English language skills, both oral and written that meet the University/ Programme requirements. Applicants who do not have a first degree may be admitted on the basis of substantial relevant work experience. The expectation is that most applicants will have demonstrable hands-on management experience (at least 2 years) and some evidence of continuing learning. Applicants may be invited for an in person or Skype/telephone interview before an offer is made.

The MSc/PG Diploma in Real Estate Investment Finance is designed to meet the needs of students with experience in the real estate industry or fund management. Through a series of cohesive distance learning modules, the programme provides student with the knowledge and professional skills that have been identified by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (APREA) and employers as essential for dealing with real estate investment and finance.
The real-world focus and flexible approach to course delivery, means programme is ideal for anyone with ambitions to gain a greater understanding of the relationships between the real estate and the finance markets.
On completion of the postgraduate diploma, the student will be fully equipped to fulfil the role of a Real Estate professional working in the fund management and investment banking business and vice versa. The MSc is available for students who wish to take their studies further by critically evaluating an area of the subject in more depth through the Applied Research Methods and Dissertation modules.
A unique aspect of the programme is the inclusion of optional intensive network seminars, where students come together to attend presentations, talks and network activities to share experiences. These allow students to network and create support groups, as well as build lasting synergies with fellow students and industrial representatives which will serve them throughout their careers.
The PG Diploma comprises four 30 credit modules that can be taken in any order:
The Real Estate Investment Market;
Applied real Estate Valuation;
Real Estate Finance and Investment;
Legal and Regulatory Considerations.
MSc students also take Applied Research Methods (10 credits) and a Dissertation (50 credits).
Information for international students
The course is open to international applicants. Because this is a distance learning programme, students are not based at our Oxford campus so do not need a student visa.
